When you realize you know B1A4’s blood types better than your own.
We feel this article is overdue (which explains its length). Afterall, B1A4 was the group that pulled me into K-Pop, and they are one of the few groups we try and keep up with every step of the way. And just like their favorite sprout dance, these boys are digging in their roots and reaching for the sun (with a hip swing here and there).
In many ways, B1A4 has been our exception. We don’t exactly have bubbly energy and cuteness oozing from our pores. It’s just not our style, and we do our best to keep away from that ever-diminishing corner of K-Pop. Without us having any say in the matter, their ABC rings, mickey mouse shirts, and hot pink overalls drew us into that cotton candy corner. With them, we’ve been there ever since, cheering them on and riding out the sugar high. It didn’t take long before I knew all their names and, of course, their blood types.
One member, Baro, has blood type B while the other four members have blood type A. If you didn’t know already, this is where their name comes from: B1-A4. Our blood types? We have no clue. We know the bloodtype of five guys thousands of miles away (whom we’ve never met); but if we needed an emergency blood transfusion, we’d be screwed. Instead of spending time trying to figure out this kind of incredibly important information, we’d much rather spend those minutes (hours…) entertained by the five bloodtypes we do know.
What we’re trying to say is that we had taken in B1A4 like a box of adorable puppies, and we cannot help but “ooh” and “aaah” at their cute, simple dance moves and mischievous, playful lyrics. “Baby I’m Sorry” was a bit more serious, but the video and acting felt like a bunny dressing up as a raven for Halloween. With their release of “Baby Goodnight”, B1A4 returned to their playful selves, but we could tell that the group was making a transition. They had created this specific image that everyone knew them by. For their music to survive, however, it would have to reflect the changes within the members as well as the experience gained in the last two years. With all this in mind, B1A4 released the EP “In the Wind” November 2012.
B1A4 have matured so much in less than 2 years! Not that its a bad thing, because I loved this new mini-album. Every song was great quality. -PROCRASTPERFECTION
This cotton candy group traded in their aegyo love confessions for dealing with broken relationships and love that must balance past wounds and future fears. When a group changes their image though, we can’t help but wonder if it’s the group or the company that has spurred on the transformation.
It’s really different from their usual stuff, but in a more mature way, so they’re heading a great direction c: Jinyoung’s pieces are amazing. -SUPERIORESCALATOR
“Jinyoung’s pieces”? That’s right! Jinyoung (A), the leader, composed much of the music for the album; and with help from the the lead rapper, Baro (B), wrote a large chunk of the lyrics as well. Their single from the EP, “Tried to Walk”, is one of the songs solely credited to these two.
I really enjoyed their more mature, refined song. Shows they’re more than just some pretty faces. -MY-AEIPATHY
Their music isn’t the only element of B1A4 that matured either. For the “Tried to Walk” music video, the boys left their fire trucks and cowboy hats at home. As Baro wanders back and forth between a world of light and life and then a world of chill and decay, we see the group members pull off an intensity that “Baby I’m Sorry” made us think was impossible. Caitlin and I could still get into a debate about whether the worlds showed fantasy, emotion, or memory. The video reflected their maturity and emotional depth; and after stripping the boys of their plastic accessories and mismatched patterns, these spunky little brothers turned into strong, experienced men.
As if ALL this wasn’t enough to leave us speechless, they began to perform the song live. Now we’ve always somewhat made fun of B1A4’s dancing. We did not think they were bad dancers; but, like everything else, it was cute and playful as well as simple. When I first watched their performance of “Tried to Walk”, I was speechless. I cannot find the words to describe how much I love this dance. The movements are so tight and hard-hitting. Every limb is accounted for; causing sharp and purposeful moves. The synchronization has to be perfect because the dancers react to the movements of a member they can’t see. I feel like I should be burned at the stake for thinking they couldn’t dance! This is one of my favorite live performances to come out of K-Pop, and I will be completely honest in saying I did not think I would ever say that about B1A4. Touche boys… Touche.
Watch the dance practice HERE!
It turns out I was the one putting B1A4 in the puppy box. Since their debut, I saw them almost as super talented toddlers. I supported them, and I “oohed” and “aahed” at the paintings they brought home from school. They were the cute and playful K-Pop group B1A4! To me, they were these little flower sprouts that had a lot to learn. They had my adoration; but did they have my respect? Well, it turns out those seeds sprung up into oak trees and they are NOT screwing around anymore. We don’t think that their old image is gone for good, but now B1A4 have truly produced something that shows what they have to offer to those who aren’t into all the fluff. When it comes down to just the music, this group can rightfully stand their ground and be confident in their skills. Because of this, a redefining is in order. B1A4: skilled, RESPECTED artists and talented performers. BANAs, make some room because after this release, it’s going to get crowded in the tree house. The password is their blood types, right?!?

Did anyone else laugh at the first set of school pictures and the album title? And I mean laugh in the not good way. Alexa did too.
I’m sorry, but I can’t take that title seriously. I know EXO—> X.O but still…Not to mention most of their hair looks AWFUL (SM sucks with hair). I’m bitter about their hair.
It’s just that they’ve been gone for SO long that I don’t think a COMPLETE style change would be good, which judging by the album title XOXO(Hugs&Kisses) sounds like it is going to be something like BAP did with Stop It and Crash.
Don’t get me wrong, I like those songs and albums a lot, but BAP had already put out more mini-albums along the same style as their debut “Warrior”.
Mama was in amazing album! I love Mama, History, Machine and especially Angel. I think that style fits EXO so well with the range of voices they have and I can only hope that it stays somewhat along the same lines with this comeback.
I know no one expected BAP to do something cutesy, but they’re more established than EXO and could take that risk. Maybe this will pay off for EXO.
Who knows.
I know I’m in the minority and that most everyone is going to like whatever EXO puts out and does no matter what (some fans do blindly follow), but I’m just trying to think through this so we’ll just see I guess. At this point I can’t take them seriously.
Please respect my opinion and I’ll respect yours. Any hateful comments and messages will be ignored.

(I’m just going to sit in my VIXX corner and wait for Hyde)

Good morning HKTers! We just woke up (it’s almost 10:30am…)
This is probably what we’ll look like during finals next week as well
Well there are going to be certain groups and companies we like more but we try out best to be open-minded about every group ^^ There are some we have listened to and just don’t like and some that have become our favorites; it’s all just a matter of taste.
We’re sorry that you are no longer following us but thank you for the time you have been :)
If you see this and want to let us know what biases you’ve seen it can help us be more aware when we do future articles and reaction videos, thanks ^^
This goes for any of our followers! We know there are a lot of groups we haven’t touched on or heard about out there and we want to do our best to be as well rounded of a blog as possible!
I don’t even….what?
Did anyone else feel like it was porno teaser? I mean the music…Alexa and I were watching it and going “oh yeeeeeah…oh baby…” in deep voices.
“Ooh, it’s hot in here, let me take of my shirt.”
“Oh don’t look, I’m shy…”
“Are you thirsty? Here, let’s have some water.”
“Oh, let me put in this light bulb all sexy like. Ah, then I have to lift my shirt to wipe my face because that was such hard work.”
And then PLOT-TWIST: You’re a peeping cat.

When you realize you have to travel across the country to see your favorite band.
Until BIGBANG, I despised Live CDs. Watching concerts online was never my thing. And even if I was there in person, I didn’t see the point in listening to my favorite bands sound terrible. Like with…
It’s Daesung’s birthday! While we don’t have a specific article written about him (yet), he is apart of our favorite band so I am reblogging this :)
You can see our reaction video to his Japanese debut HERE!
Happy Birthday to BigBang’s smiling angel <3
Sadly we didn’t get to see them but we will some day!
